I am drawn to colour - bold and vibrant. Nature perfectly combines these ideas - colour and tones that are perfectly placed to harmonise and pop.

HELLO, and a very warm welcome from my easel,

I don't know about you but I can't believe that it is already part way through December! I know that we all probably wanted this dreadful, crazy year to come to an end but there are only 11 days to Christmas ( which is at our place!!) and I haven't even had time to think about it. It will be the new year before we know it.

November has been a particularly busy and productive month from my end with my joining the art team at Atelier Crafers in the Adelaide hills, teaching pastel workshops. In spite of some tricky timing - caught on either side of the last brief lockdown causing last minute cancellations, the dramatic skies and coasts workshops were extremely well received with some amazing work produced from these artists in spite a number of them being new to the medium of soft pastels.

My next workshop - Streetscapes abstracted will be held on Jan. 27th from 10 - 4. And will cover the use of colour and how to simplify and abstract buildings, people and reflections. Should be lots of fun. Check out the Atelier website for the supplies list and more details. I have had requests for workshops next year so if there is a particular topic you would like me to cover please send me an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I'll make sure we cover it. Below is just one of my paintings that is now for sale in the Atelier gallery, gift shop.

And talking of art for sale, there are some fabulous works showing at the Splashout Gallery on the Brighton esplanade. The very quirky painting of the 3 dogs above is one of my works for sale there - any ideas for a title? I'd love to hear what you think. Brighton is always a great place to visit in the summer months with loads of good places to eat and lovely walks along the beach. I am often sitting and painting in the gallery too so pop in to say hi.

Well, that's all from my end. Keep an eye out for my next email - there's some great stuff planned for the new year. Roll on 2021!

From my family to yours - wishing you all a wonderful Christmas - keep well everyone.
